I've been fascinated by the amount of NPR news time that was spent on the Ukrainian elections, mainly because the absence of any reporting on the groups investigating U.S. election fraud was so deafening. I'm not objecting to the reporting on the Ukraine; our press is still too U.S./western-european-centric. I'm just noticing the disjuncture. Listening to NPR felt surreal -- because I kept expecting the reports of election fraud to slip from the Ukraine to the U.S. But that didn't happen. What's up with this void in the mainstream media? Not surprising. But certainly frustrating and illuminating.
